GYM CURTAIN DIVIDER SYSTEM
A custom electromechanical curtain divider system that synchronizes multiple hoists per curtain through a centralized control box, enabling smooth, level lifting with both grouped and individual control for flexible facility configuration.

Client
Velotech Baseball operates a multi-use indoor training facility that needs to quickly adapt between full-facility use and multiple individual batting cages. The client required a reliable, flexible solution that could withstand frequent daily operation while remaining simple for staff to use.
The Challenge
The facility needed a curtain divider system capable of lifting and lowering large divider curtains smoothly and evenly. Each curtain required multiple hoists operating in sync to maintain proper leveling, while also allowing individual hoist control for fine adjustment. The system had to be robust, safe, and intuitive, with minimal maintenance and clear operational control.
Our Solution
Firstage Engineering designed a custom electromechanical curtain divider system using multiple hoists per curtain, coordinated through a centralized control box. Each curtain incorporates 5–7 hoists that can be operated simultaneously to raise or lower the curtain evenly, or individually to fine-tune leveling. The control system was engineered for reliability and ease of use, allowing operators to quickly switch between grouped and individual control modes.
Outcome
The completed system allows Velotech Baseball to rapidly reconfigure the facility based on operational needs. All curtains can be raised to open the space for full-facility use or lowered to divide the area into individual batting cages for training. The system operates smoothly and reliably, providing flexibility, safety, and long-term durability for high-frequency use.
